‏Report on the Visit of the Association of German Jordanian medical associations to H.E. Ambassador Fayez Khoury

‏As part of strengthening the ties between Jordanian medical professionals abroad and official institutions, a delegation from the Board of the Association of Jordanian Doctors in Germany visited H.E. Fayez Khoury, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Berlin, at his residence. The visit included a friendly dinner that brought both parties together in an atmosphere of hospitality and constructive dialogue.

‏During the meeting, the attendees discussed several important issues concerning Jordanian doctors in Germany, particularly recent graduates and those planning to work in the German healthcare sector. H.E. the Ambassador expressed his great interest in supporting the initiative to establish what is known as “The German Track” in Jordanian universities — an academic pathway designed to help students prepare in advance for specialization and employment in Germany during their medical studies.

‏Key topics discussed included:
‏    1.    The “German Track” Concept:
‏An academic and linguistic program to be integrated into the curricula of Jordanian medical faculties, starting with the University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology. The program would prepare students both academically and linguistically for direct entry into the German healthcare system upon graduation. Ideas were also discussed to improve visa access for students applying for electives in Germany.
‏    2.    Early Language Preparation:
‏It was proposed to offer specialized German language courses in medical faculties to ensure students reach the required proficiency level by the end of their studies.
‏    3.    Adapting Curricula to German Equivalency Requirements:
‏The importance of communication with relevant authorities in Jordanian universities was emphasized to understand the various requirements across German federal states for recognizing foreign medical degrees. The aim is to align academic curricula with German accreditation standards.

‏At the end of the meeting, H.E. the Ambassador affirmed his full support for these initiatives and his readiness to collaborate with Jordanian universities and official entities to achieve these ambitious goals, contributing to the enhancement of Jordanian medical expertise in the German healthcare landscape.
